2. Overview

Icosmo.de offers free tools and applications. We do not sell anything, show no advertising, do not use analytics or tracking tools and do not create user profiles. Most of the calculations on this website, such as the clocks, the astronomical positions and the sounds, take place in your browser on your own device. Personal data is processed only where it is described below.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Febas, owner Roman Baumgärtner, Ostlandstraße 5, 49565 Bramsche, Germany. Every time you visit the website, the server automatically records information that your browser transmits:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of the request
  • Requested page or file and the amount of data transferred
  • Website from which you came (referrer)
  • Browser type and version, operating system

This data is needed to deliver the website, to keep it stable and to protect it against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. The log files are stored only for a limited period for security reasons and are then deleted or anonymised. The hoster processes the data on our behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

4. Encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” and the lock symbol in the address bar of your browser.

5. Cookies and storage in your browser

This website does not use cookies for analytics, tracking or advertising. Technically necessary cookies may be set by WordPress, for example for logged-in users of the website administration.

Some of the Icosmo applications store data locally in your browser (local storage or IndexedDB) so that they work as expected. For example, the Icosmo Oracle remembers the birth data you entered, and Icosmo Astro Music keeps the tracks you create. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time in the settings of your browser.

The legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 4 (5) of Greek Law 3471/2006, because the storage is strictly necessary for the function you requested, together with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

6. Contact form and e-mail

If you send us a message through the contact form or by e-mail, we process your name, your e-mail address and the content of your message in order to answer your request. The contact form is provided by the WordPress plugin WPForms and runs on our own server. Your message is sent to us by e-mail.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, if your request relates to a contract or to pre-contractual measures, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering requests) and your consent in the form (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). We delete your data as soon as your request has been completely dealt with, unless legal retention periods apply.

7. Location in the clocks and applications

The Icosmo clocks and some applications can use the location of your device to calculate the sunrise and sunset, the positions of the planets and houses, and the local weather. Your browser asks for your permission first. The location is processed in your browser. If you do not give your permission, a standard location (Berlin) is used.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you give in your browser and can withdraw at any time in the settings of your browser.

8. Weather data (Icosmo Sky Clock)

If you allow the location, the Icosmo Sky Clock shows the current weather. For this, your browser sends your location, rounded to about 10 km, to our own server. Our server requests the weather from Open-Meteo (OpenMeteo GmbH, Bürglen, Switzerland) and stores the answer for 15 minutes. Open-Meteo receives only the rounded coordinates from our server, not your IP address. Switzerland has an adequate level of data protection according to an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

The legal basis is your consent to the use of your location (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Weather data by Open-Meteo.com (CC BY 4.0).

9. Place search for birth data

In the Icosmo Oracle, Icosmo Human Design, Icosmo Astro Music and the Icosmo Matrix Synth, you can search for a place, for example your place of birth. Only when you start the search, your browser sends the entered place name directly to the following services:

  • OpenStreetMap Nominatim (OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom) to find the coordinates of the place. The United Kingdom has an adequate level of data protection according to an adequacy decision of the European Commission. Privacy policy: osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
  • timeapi.io to find the time zone of these coordinates. The operator of this service does not publish an imprint or a privacy policy; we therefore cannot give further information about its location or its handling of data.

These services receive your IP address, the entered place name or its coordinates and technical data of your browser. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in offering a convenient place search. If you do not want this, enter the coordinates and time zone manually instead of using the search.

10. External libraries

Some applications (Icosmo Astro Music, Icosmo Human Design, Icosmo Helix and Icosmo Katakamuna) load open-source program libraries for sound, export and PDF functions from public content delivery networks when you open them:

  • cdnjs (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA)
  • jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net), a public network for open-source files, which is delivered through providers such as Cloudflare and Fastly
  • Google Cloud Storage (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA) for the music models of Icosmo Astro Music

When the files are loaded, your browser transmits your IP address and technical data of your browser to these providers. Data may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare and Google are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, on the basis of which the European Commission has recognised an adequate level of data protection. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the reliable and fast provision of the applications.

11. Fonts

The fonts of this website are stored on our own server. No connection to external font services such as Google Fonts is made.

12. Links to other websites

This website contains links to other websites, for example Wikipedia. Data is transmitted to these websites only when you click a link. Their own privacy policies apply there.

13. Your rights

You have the right:

  • to obtain information about your personal data processed by us (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • to have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • to have your data erased (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • to restrict the processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • to withdraw a consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): If we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation.

To exercise your rights, an e-mail to info@icosmo.de is sufficient.

Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The supervisory authority responsible for us is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, Kifisias 1-3, 115 23 Athens, Greece, www.dpa.gr.

14. No automated decisions

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

We adapt this privacy policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The current version can always be found on this page.
